small birds can be brown | 2022

This new body of work is creating opportunities to discover and re-discover beauty in the small and humble objects we might normally not notice.
Found objects that caught my eye for some reason are brought together in random compositions. leaving as much as possible room for people to imagine why they’re here, what the relationship is between them and what beauty they might hold. The vast amount of space around the objects isolates them so they can be appreciated pure and only for what they are and how they’re shaped. Hard not to notice the intriguing texture and variety of colours in a stack of vintage soccer cards . No excuse to miss the enticing curves of a bottle lid. A second chance for all of us to turn our eyes from our screens to admire a 70’s landline or a well used paint tray. Discover all the different Dulux colours poured in over the years. Stare a few minutes at a drain tube or olive drab music cassette. An opportunity to re-connect with the meaning and significance of what really matters in life; the small things.
