Figurative sculptures: Vintage fabric, foam, twine, rope, found objects, wood, clay, paint.
This new series of souls is exploring the concept of liberation. The state of being free within self from opPressive restrictions imposed by external powers on ones way of life, behaviours, views and thoughts. The swaddle of tattered cloths in decay represent the suffocating social values such as beauty, success, wealth and status, that holds us back from connecting with our souls. With who we really are and what we truely believe in. The serene, unassuming and innocent face is our emerging pure soul. These sculpture remind us to keep unshackling our souls, to set them free in order to experience the sensation of happiness.
